Your Initial Appointment
Our typical new patient appointment consists of a visit with one of our registered dental hygienists followed by a comprehensive exam by Dr. Kluth. You can expect to spend between an hour and a half to two hours at our office for the first visit. We will review your medical history, take any necessary x-rays and intraoral photographs, and perform a basic cleaning. Then Dr. Kluth will examine your teeth and gums, perform a TMJ assessment, and an oral cancer screening. She will review all findings and recommendations with you, and develop a treatment plan with you. You will have the opportunity to discuss any concerns you might have about your oral health or appearance. On occasion, for more complicated full-mouth cases, additional treatment planning elements and appointments may be needed.
If you are a new patient with a specific urgent dental need, please let our receptionist know when making your appointment. We can address urgent needs before the comprehensive exam and cleaning visit if necessary.
Please call our office at 518-374-6845 with any questions or to make an appointment.
Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:
IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please alert the office ahead of time if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to treatment (i.e., artificial heart valves, joint replacements, organ transplants or failure, etc.) or if you are currently taking any anticoagulents other than aspirin, or require premedication for any reason.
X-Rays
If your previous dentist or physician has taken x-rays within the last five years, please request that they forward them to our office. This will allow us to limit our x-rays only to those needed at the time of your first visit. If additional x-rays are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
